Gabriel Evans is a seventeen year-old artist born in Western Australia (WA). He was home-schooled on a twenty-acre hobby farm in rural WA,

He drew much inspiration for his artwork from the surrounding countryside and Blackwood River. In 2008 he graduated from TAFE with his diploma in Visual Arts and Crafts. Gabriel has won several art awards including a Gold in the Australia-Britain Society's Art Idol. He was involved in the Art Idol Road Show 2008, exhibiting his new work in several Perth galleries. For the past three years he has represented his hometown in the Perth Royal Show Shell Agricultural Art Award.
 
He has won numerous prizes for paintings of portraits, landscapes and still life studies. He works mostly in watercolour, oil, acrylic, charcoal and pen and ink. He is inspired by artists such as Arthur Rackham, Norman Thelwell, Cicely Mary Barker, William Bouguereau and Helen Allingham.
 
Gabriel is the cartoonist for the Youth Express, a newspaper circulated to all educational institutions throughout the South West of WA. In 2007 he launched a greeting card line with his brother and between them they have over a hundred designs. These are sold through galleries and retail outlets in Australia and the UK. Gabriel is the illustrator for 'Born to Love Frogs' (2009) and can be contacted through Pick-a-Woo Woo Publishers.
