Golden Heart is a fairy tale very much in the old style. It tells of a happy fairytale kingdom that attracts the disgust of a nasty witch, Tanacha.  Tanacha of course casts the appropriate spell to get rid of the happiness and make the Kingdom barren but finds the Queen has a ‘Golden Heart', the one thing that is saving the Kingdom.

This heart is a danger to Tanacha and her success but could become a great power if she can attain it so Tanacha's is compelled to elaborate on her plans. The King has been force to leave to find an income because of the witch's spell. The Queen is now very unwell and the fairies believe there is a danger of Tanacha managing to steal the Golden Hearts Power when she dies. The Fairies manage to distract Tanacha with rather unusual temptation. The major crisis is avoided but the prince who now has the Golden heart is still vulnerable and will be until he understands the power of Love. Tanacha is forced to find a new solution to her problem that is now becoming tiresome.
The Prince, Marak, leaves to find the King but before he leaves he plants his mother's favourite rose on her grave. The rose now protects the Kingdom as it provides the link between the Kingdom and the Golden Heart.
Marak, meets his love, a Gipsy girl but the Magwa, a creature sent by the witch, manages to separate them. The story begins its climax as Tanacha arranges for her friends to bring an end to Marak. It is the power of love that the two share that brings the lovers back together. With help from the North wind they find the strength to hold strong against Tanacha's final showdown.
