Pick-a-WooWoo Beginnings

Do we tell the Pick-a-WooWoo fantasy story  - our books were found by Oprah and now are shared with children all over the world. OR do we tell you it's true, yet humble beginnings...the truth may not be as exciting but it is a story of perseverance, persistence, synchronicity and serendipity

Most writers know the highs and lows of writing a book....the high in writing and the low in trying to get it published. Well, I was no different to most writers except that I already had owned a successful publishing company so I thought I knew how to 'play the game' (think I've lost my ego now).

To my utter surprise and disappointment I found that the publishing world and children's spiritual books were not only considered an enigma to some but to others 'just plain too hard'. Where were those publishers who could see the conscious awakening for not just adults but our children too!. Extensive research showed that they were few and far between. Those publishers who provided Mind-Body-Spirit or spiritual books to adults quite clearly stipulated that 'this genre of books just don't sell for children'- interpretation...we don't make enough money from this genre of books. Cynical, yes....surprised no. I was no different as a publisher. If you can't sell it you don't print it (old paradigm of thinking now).

'But, but but...this is a niche area...a growing area of need and want. Hasn't anyone had the foresight to offer these books.' With further research it was with great glee and a sense of hope that I finally located some publishers in America who had committed some money to this genre of books, only to find out that 'it was for named names or people of notoriety only AND the program has been cancelled due to insufficient demand. It had seemed that no publisher was prepared to take the risk and ensure that these books were available for the many who have been requesting them. Is this not the age of enlightenment etc etc...surely what we want for ourselves we want for our children too.

So with my foot in my mouth (you see I swore I would never again be involved in publishing)...I sat, I listened, I meditated, I postulated, I cried, I laughed and then I remembered "faith is to believe what you do not see - the reward of this faith it to see what you believe".

Today, after many trials and tribulations, I (and so many other individuals and earth angels) see what others could not ...a thriving and successful publishing house for children's spiritual books - Yes we are a "niche Mind Body Spirit publisher for children" and we make a stand to make a difference for today's children. The future lies in the hearts of these children and the responsibility for what we teach and share with those hearts rests in our hands.

There is really a whole book that could be written about Pick-a-WooWoo's journey, especially all the guidance given by spirit (others may just call it coincidence, I don't now). Our journey is young (born 2005) and we are constantly getting support from all over the world including people of notoriety and many from those like you and me...your love, light and support uplifts us on this journey and I thank you with all my heart.

PS Fantasy is reality that just hasn't happened yet ...so we'll keep knocking on some 'Spiritual Pioneers' (such as Oprah etc) doors in seeking their support...and yours too of course.
