Thank you for being in touch with us. It may seem we are closing the door on you with our submissions closed sign – but hopefully you will see we’ve opened many windows (windows of opportunity) instead.

As a commercial publisher (trade publisher) we select 12-20 children’s spiritual book titles per year under our imprint ‘Pick-a-WooWoo’. We would dearly love to say ‘YES’ to the many other wonderful titles that come to our attention every year (both children and adults books).

However, due to an overwhelming response to our ‘Internet submissions page’, we have been inundated with manuscripts and therefore have selected children’s and adults spiritual book titles now for  2013 & 2014 for TRADE publishing.  However, we can help you to achieve your dream (and be published) either via partnership publishing, assisted self-publishing or we can even assist you to set up as your own publisher. TRADITIONAL MODEL (currently closed)

Pick-a-WooWoo is our traditional model where our entire team of experts, editors, proof readers, designers, printing specialists marketing people, publicity people, sales people, finance people etc. all pull together with you to create a book that we believe is needed but is unquestionably worth doing. It must present also as a strong commercial proposition. The book must be different and the author must be prepared to work hard on their 'author platform'. We publish less than one title per month is the Pickk-a-WooWoo range so competition is fierce.

With the traditional model the arrangements are the old fashioned ones whereby Pick-a-WooWoo takes the full and total financial risk and pays your royalties in the traditional way of a x% of the cover price or price received for each copy sold in domestic / international markets. Typically the time line for publication can range from 12-18 months from reaching contract agreement.

With the partnership model through 'Authors Wish' you get the same team working on the book and you supply the writing and illustration. You are also required to share some of the time and investment in sales and marketing. We know that authors who are passionate about their book and who know who their target markets are make the best sales people. Financialy you are also required to purchase 400-500 copies, at an agreed discount of the title upon publication. The book is sold by us through our existing distribution channels and treated exactly the same way as books in the traditional model above. Basically the same contract exists as the traditional model (except for the agreement of purchasing the books as mentioned) . So what you have achieved is a traditional model agreement and helped get the book established for what one hopes is a profiitable future. The typically the time line for publication can range from 9-18 months from reaching agreement.this and is a GOLDEN opportunity for you to be published through Pick-a-WooWoo.

ASSISTED SELF-PUBLISHING MODEL

Due to the unmanageable number of submissions each year (through Pickawoowoo), our directors decided to start an assisted self-publishing division of Pick-a-WooWoo that would give inspirational writers a venue to get their books out and have the publishing tools that many individuals sought. There's no need for authors to rely solely on their own knowledge or skill set to get published. The experience and connections provided through MBS Press will give authors everything they need to create and publish their books while allowing the author to maintain control of the content. This model is really for those authors who require a range of skills but possibly not all of them. We do the work required at a charge and arrange for the printing and delivery to you. You have full financial risk of the project (and rewards) yet we provide whatever is needed to help make your book project a reality. By visiting the website you will see there is a signficant amount of information that will allow you to go it alone. Everyone has an opinion about various self publishing companies but very little is available that guides you to choose your publishing path wisely - we freely give you information to make an INFORMED decision OR -- we can provide all the services from helping with writing , publishing through to sales and marketing.

Many authors have also 'piggy backed' our Pick-a-WooWoo offset print runs because of our print buying expertise. Ultimately the choice is yours and obviously dependent  upon your individual needs, requirements, budgets and timelines. Timeline - some manscripts can be done in a matter of weeks other can take a little  longer to get to 'Print Ready' stage.
